Bulk rubbish disposal
Bulk rubbish disposal
I'm going to be taking up lots of old flooring - too much to just put next to the normal green skips. Does anybody know if Lagoa Camara have a site where you can take bulk rubbish? If so, what are the details?

Hi farol,
Ignore Bruce he lives on the other side of Carvoeiro where they have developed some very bad habits !
I seem to recall that there is an official "dump" near Colina de Lapa just before you reach the "Island Cafe" & "Presa de Moura" en route from Ferragudo to Sesmarias on your left hand side.
It's not huge but adjacent to the bins is a concrete "holding area" for household waste which is cleared regularly.

Re: Bulk rubbish disposal
The bulk disposal site is in Lagoa just behind the parking area( where the monthly market is held) behind the fatacil, There is a home collection service call 808202283, i had trouble getting an answer on this number recently but have used it numerous times over the years, but if you go into the office of the junta in Carvoeiro, on the out road, they will give you a landline number.

Myself, Pickwick, and other enlightened dwellers of the Portuguese side of Carvoeiro, are always pleased to welcome cultural tourists from Surbiton on the Hill, in the west.widge wrote:Well I hope you boy's from the east side of town won't start driving over here to dump your stuff.Bruce Wallis wrote:I hadnt realised that there was a council dump near Sesmarias, Widge.....Explains quite alot thoughwidge wrote:Hi farol,

Bruce's description seems fair and accurate to me - friendship & hospitality certainly. But...........they do seem to brag a bit about how nice their side of town is !
Car theft is a given.......
