Ma Ja´s

Post by Gary/Gaynor »

A big thank you to Mark and Jan for making my mother´s 80th birthday celebratons one to remember. The dressed table and special menu devised by Mark was just perfect for a warm evening´s celebrations. What a night to remember, mum will be talking about it until her 81st birthday when we will have to do it all again.... :D

Well I went last night and was gutted! Gutted it was my first ever visit! Really, really fab...was with four other foodies and all agreed it was the mutts nutts (will try and copy the salsa in the UK) They have a perception problem I think, Its not the "brit food cafe" I thought it was, not even sure why I thought it was but just did. Do yourself a favour and give it a whirl.

Agree CM, Gary and I have been eating at Ma Ja's for a few seasons now and contrary to the British Food perception Mark tries out different dishes from across a number of cusines. It may be slighly out off the beaten track but well worth a gentle stroll up to the resturant. :D

We still have a table or two left for our St George's Day Celebration on Monday

3 Course homemade traditional English meal including house wine, beer or soft drinks

Live music with Alan on keyboards

Correct me if I'm wrong....but aren't there rules about unpaid advertising on this forum??

I got my wrists soundly slapped for trying to advertise an unsold week on the forum, but MA-JA's seem to be allowed to advertise quite often.

It's an interesting point Bruce but I would differentiate the two in this way. Margarida would very likely include the Ma Ja's party in her newsletter because it is of general interest to people who will be in Carvoeiro at the time. She is less likely to advertise the fact that Bruce Wallis has a villa available in August. Personally, I think that flagging up a late availability should be allowed, especially if you ask for PMs. You may find the Mods are more tolerant about such things now.

There does seem to be a bit of sour grapes involved here?

Hi laserblazer,
I think the difference is that Margarida would put it in the newsletter after the event rather than trying to drum up business. By the way, I have no problem with what MaJa's have done here, good luck to them.

So.....by implication.....every bar, restaurant, builder and anybody with a business that serves the people reading this forum, have a tacit right to advertise on this forum without paying to do so??
