Re: Carvoeiro Person of the Year
if you ask most people who rent out their properties since 1999 tourism ain't what it used to be and so you will be lucky
to see 3million visitors a year I wish that were true

Re: Carvoeiro Person of the Year
Ernie, I think 3,000,000 refers to the whole of the Algarve and not just to Carvoeiro which is what the topic refers to.
Re: Carvoeiro Person of the Year
thanks for link Ernie, which shows Carvoeiro at 40,000 (thought it would be more myself, but probably depends on particular year)
Re: Carvoeiro Person of the Year
What has happened about this ? The poll closed a month ago and still no word !!
Has Libbre been presented with his flowers/framed certificate ?
If not, when is the presentation ?
If he has, what was his reaction ?

It was a virtual person of the year award.

Since when
See posts by various 14/15 January.
Personally I think it a good idea - a stimulus for local traders/personalities and good publicity for carvoeiro.com.
How about activating it Steen - we could have a fish and chip dinner meeting of all CVO.com members who are around at presentation time.

Roy, I didn't see your post until a few minutes age, but this evening I popped into Happys to say hi to Libbre
and ask him how he felt about his prestigious award. To say he was overwhelmed was an understatement
He has his acceptance speech all prepared and I suspect there will be tears all round. I would love to know when the
presentation will be!

Re: Carvoeiro Person of the Year
As one of the Noble Thirteen, I would like to see a photograph of him receiving his certificate so that he has plenty of time to have them posted on the wall in time for my visit in May. I am sure that I will not be the only one who wishes to wind him up.
