I went here with Gambrinus two or three weeks ago, the food was good very basic but tasty, and good value for money. I will go back the next time I am in CVO.
Re: The new Crazy Chicken restaurant!!!
As Boa Vista residents we decided to try our local last night.
Reception was warm from Andre - tables somewhat tightly spaced but eveywhere clean and well decorated.
I had the smoked salmon starter which was a good portion - my only quibble being that the sauce was a bit too sweet - followed by the speciality tarte flambe bolognaise which was huge with a topping which was on the heavy side - a smaller portion with a salad accompaniment would have been better in my opinion.
Carol had the house salad with chicken which in her own words was "to die for", followed by the picana which she rated the tenderest, tastiest picana (including in Brazil !!) she had eaten.
The wine list was disappointing and the house wine, whilst drinkable, was not the best we encountered.
Overall we were happy - no way could the food be described as 'not good' although the tarte flambe is an acquired taste - and we will certainly be walking down for another meal soon.

Our only complaint ( if you can call it one ) is that the typically Portuguese lunchtime dishes are not carried over to the evening menu even as " specials " at a higher evening price.
Re: The new Crazy Chicken restaurant!!!
We went this week and were not impressed. Nice decor but food was not up to much. Chicken piri piri was very poor and the chicken curry was bland. The waiter said that he had lamb chops as a special but when I asked the price he said he did not know and was not inclined to find out.
Re: The new Crazy Chicken restaurant!!!
Why have chicken Steve ? The name of the place is frango maluca = crazy (to eat the) chicken
Re: The new Crazy Chicken restaurant!!!
The menu choice is quite small ( which is usually a good sign) and I did not fancy anything else on offer. I might have considered the lamb chops if I had known how much they were!
Re: The new Crazy Chicken restaurant!!!
Nothing wrong about - but I was not impressed.

Frango Moluco - Crazy Chicken - they must be !!
My wife wanted to book the set Christmas lunch for 8 people - they refused to do it for less than 10 people.
Considering it is a set preprepared menu they must indeed be moluco to turn away 8 customers - most of whom were regulars - in these economic times.
I know that one man's loss is another man's gain, but with an attitude like this do they deserve to succeed ?

This place is a must to avoid.
We've been twice - the food was average but their condescending arrogance was painful. Never again. They were dreadful when they had Primavera - they appear to have continued with their ways.
Won't be back - ever
