Got a shock then, thought it was the "Woodchurch", y'know the old Birkenhead ferry, by the way, just a little piece of info! the ferry's that cross the Mersey (Gerry Marsden) are the Birkenhead Ferry's, nothing to do with Liverpool OK! 8)

Hello again and Happy New Year

Can anyone advise what the situation is with the toll road?

We'll be arriving in Faro in a couple of weeks and have hired a car , just a little concerned now as to how the toll roads work?
Any help appreciated :-)

We gave it a miss and used the 125. My son in law used the toll road and went to the post office in Carvoeiro next day to pay. He had to pay the tolls from the previous user of the car. It wasn't worth contesting it for a few euros. I may take the A22 from the airport in February and the 125 back. As we get our car through www.algarvedriver.com, I'm confident that Steen will sort things out if we get stuffed.

it all sounds a bit of a nightmare!

We've hired the car to collect at the airport, same company we used in Sept as they were pretty good, I'm just a bit concerned as we have no idea how the toll works or how much it costs or how to pay etc... we didn't even know that you needed to pay at the post office and the idea of getting slammed with someone elses charges...hmmmn, not good. Maybe we will just use the 125 too. unless we can find out more.

thanks for your post!

Can we keep all discussion of Tolls here in this one thread.

I know there is no better info there (yet?), but as its a moving target and more information becomes available, lets try to keep it all in one place.

And very nice it is too. We had a lovely pre Christmas lunch and entertainment here, at a very reasonable price. Food was excellent, company wasn't bad either! 8)

We have just come back and can recommend Taste on the in and out road as there are 2 entrances and also the top of restaurant hill is Primavera. As far as I know they are not about to close. I am sure you will find plenty of places to eat as it wasn't as quiet as I thought it would be over NY. Have a lovely time. :D

Is that to make it easier to do a runner? :)

Yes on the outroad they have the lower bar and garden type bit so when you enter you do so one floor up. On the in road it is the lower part of the restaurant which you cannot see if you enter from the out road and vice versa. :D
