Just booked our flights for April, June, September and October - no luggage, 2 adults for £6?? Seems pretty good to me.

(if the chief ex of Easyjet was a man I would suspect you were offering him favours but that does not apply ...... )

I could not recall how much it was over 600, but hubby says it is 612. An August flight would rack the costs up, so I reckon you did a great job. Especially as mine are pounds and yours are euros. Some of my outward flights are later in the day to take advantage of either not taking a day off or the price. I am so used to the first flight, but finishing at 1 on a Friday allows me to get a flight after about 3. getting sooooo excited about 30 th December. don't want the bubble to burst though.

When we flew out from Bristol on saturday morning there was an announcement on almost evry EJ flight asking for passengers to put their hand luggage in the hold. Those who did got free speedy boarding ( 1 case handed in = 2 of us at the head of a very long queue, we had 1 case checked in anyway ).
If they did not gt enough volunteers then at the boarding gate they decided whose hand luggage ened up in the hold.
So anyone who is always expecting a qucik getaway on arrival my not find that this is always the case ( no pun intended ).

The thing is that so many people have cogged onto travelling light, to avoid luggage charges, that the holds are nearly empty, and there isnt enough room in the overhead lockers.

We resisted their pleas when we flew home last week, because part of it is not having to wait at the carousel for the luggage coming off.

Returned home last week.no online check in allowed on this particular flight as it was stopping in Lisbon. anyway at the airport the lady on desk stated that there was only 69 passengers from Faro and another 36 from Libson. However what I did not expect was that the aircraft would still have the outward Lisbon passengers on board. biggest problem was the overhead bins as they were pretty full already, few passengers offered to put their bag into hold but staff said they could not do that as it would cause confusion at Lisbon. so for the short journey to lisbon there was bags everywhere and I mean everywhere. The only exceptions were in the exit rows where the staff definitely did not allow any bags.As Bruce states we have all become used to travelling light (thanks, uncle Michael ).

have to say my biggest surpise earlier this year was the number of passengers on Easyjet who do not check in on line. With Ryanair you ALWAYS check in on line as it costs real money not to do so. With Aer Lingus you can choose your seat number and if they have already allocated one you can change it, so most passengers check in on line but last year noticed that most passengers with Easyjet had not booked in online and stood in a pretty long line at the airport to check in.

I saw some of this going on when we returned last week and wondered what was happening. It seemed as if they were only picking on bags that might not have fitted in the size gauge and our flight was only half full.

With some insurance policies high value items are only covered if carried in your hand luggage so if you are then made to put your hand luggage in the hold any high value items suddenly become uninsured. I think I would challenge the checkin staff over this and if forced to still put the bag in the hold would take a lot of the contents out first.
