great news if your going to pay at a payshop or post office...sometimes standing in line at these places is almost equal to the driving time you want to pay for...suspect any tourist who has to stand fr 20 mins to pay for a toll will on their next journey avoid the toll road

I think you will find the vast majority of holiday makers wount give two hoots about the cost of the tolls and use the motorway for their journey....as it was calculated earlier at less than 5 euro from Faro to Lagoa, its almost the same as a pint of beer...if the holiday is affected that much by the tolls I would suggest a different location for their holidays...residents I can fully understand

Its not the cost involved, 5 euros is neither here nor there, Its the way of paying for it that is the problem.

Agreed, its not the cost, it's the problem with making the payments that concern most of us, especially the return trip to the airport.

just wondering how paying at the post office and payshops will work for say those first time tourists..first of course we assume that the post office/payshop will speak English..then will the tourist know which junction they entered the road...I suspect not...how many charging posts did they pass ....I think not..which junction did they leave...dont know!

I cant help wondering if the tourist does not know the answers, then will they be charged for the whole A22 journey...as happened when one tourist I know joined the Lisbon Algarve toll road near Albuferia..exited at Messines. They didn't realize they had to stop for a ticket and got charged for the toll for the whole Algarve/ Lisbon journey

From what you say about the post office by adding the toll payers is only going to create longer waiting times in line.

The question we need clarity on is how do the tolls get paid....will it be inclusive in the hire charge, that seems the simplest and most convenient to me....

I assume tomorrow someone may have the answer having been through it!
