September Easyjet Flights

Easyjet flights from Bristol to Faro released today for September 2012. Booked ours this evening.
Strange thing is i didn't receive an email alert from them - but the last few weeks i've got into the habit of checking easyjet website every evening.

Prices gone up quite a bit - this year we paid about £110 return - i've just had to pay £140. Dates roughly the same for 2011 and 2012.
20kg baggage now up to £30 each - stiff! Credit Card charge £15 - stiff!

please keep checking prices, I have done this for the last 18 months and have caught them out on their price promise several times because the prices have come down. I have had many credits to use up from this, they say they need to stimulate business from time to time when it is slow but that does not help us early bookers who are led to believe we get the best deal by doing this ?.

That's fine if you are booking a package, and the villa hire company have to unload previously paid for seats, but not quite so simple for independent flyers, and villa owners.

The trick with Easyjet is get in as early as possible, as they sell their seats in batches. Each batch more expensive than the previous one.
Leave it until the last minute with Easyjet, they know you are desperate and will charge you as much as a BA flight to New York.

You are quite correct BW, my fligths to Belfast this Christmas are more expensive than a return flight to NYK. (and that's getting in reasonably early)

It also boils down to the time of year. Getting a cheap last minute flight in the peak season is very tricky but with so many carriers avalable there are bagains but not necessarily from your nearest local airport.

Out of season, then last minute booking at very reasonable prices are very possible. I fly five times a year to Dublin and the fares never change with Cityjet that is because they are not Ryanair! If they flew from London City Airport I'd save a huge sum.

Thanks for the tip off Bristol Si, I too didn't receive the email. I had already booked Easyjet out from Belfast for late August and was waiting for September to open up to check prices, as it transpires Aer Lingus are marginally cheaper for the return and slightly better time ex Faro so have now booked them.

thats most of my planned flights booked now for next year feby, april, june, august and total for all comes to around * €700 for both of us (no bags) so happy enough.probably add another €120 for October and maybe €60 for December and thats the lot. I mix and match airport and airlines and fully agree with BW, if you know your dates and have your accommodation then you are probably better off booking early, with two exceptions - October and December when you are better off holding back. on another post I stated that Ry to Faro was just under €26 return in Dec but this was not the fares they were advertising a few months ago. I think Ryanair, when they release the next 6 months batch of schedules and fares just throw on a price, and as the date approaches they fine tune it ie up the fare and drop taxes and charges, then drop the fare again and re-introduce the taxes, or in the case of December slash prices and drop taxes to stimulate a few booking- (those €13 fares are now €32 with taxes still dropped) I have found that next years Aug/Sept flights more expensive (approx €60) but the rest are pretty much the same as 2011.

*I reside in the eurozone hence the euro and I don't have travel insurance so if I don't make the flights the airlines win. I have found that with insurance there really is only one winner.

Agree with time of year, Christmas, Easter and the 12th Fortnight were always expensive times to travel to and from Belfast, I can remember back in the 70’s paying well over a 100 quid return from Heathrow at Christmas time when the bastards had the monopoly, pre Freddie Laker, Easyjet et al.
