Free vets - feral cats

We have a feral cat visits us. He/she has a severely ulcerated ear.
Is there a free vet/cat rescue centre around Carvoeiro that would treat this cat....with of course a donation from my cat loving wife.

We have two feral kittens living in our garden. Three were born here about 8 weeks ago but one sadly died, mum still visits as do various aunts and uncles trouble is they all seem to leave their calling card! If this carries on we'll be overrun with feral cats in a couple of years. Is there an animal charity who deal with this sort of problem?

Surely one of the animal charities eg The Donkey Sanctuary at Estombar
can help you or at least point you in the right direction. It's terrible to see
an animal in pain or distress. Good luck!

We have three regular visitors, of which one is a pet as he has a collar -the other two are clearly well blessed males with fighting scars to prove it - the one has been a regular visitor for 2 years and suffered a serious eye injury last year - we thought he had died and we couldnt catch him to get treatment, however in feb this year he again turned up - right eye very cloudy.

I went to the vets on the out rd opposite Harry's and enquired if anything cold be done to get him neutered if we caught him - they happily said they would certainly dothe job - about €55!! I asked if there was any subsidised treatment as he was feral but there was no offer of any reduction.

We are still trying to catch him - I note he is comfortably sprawled on one of our loungers as I type!

Cat's eye's should be fairly easy to locate, have a look at night on the outroad.

I agree with Bruce Wallis re the remarks by Pato. I think Pato's subsequent comments show that he is what his name with the missing letter implies ( a prato).

Nah.......shooting fish in a barrel gets boring...........more fun getting you to dredge up words like malapert (def : bold and saucy....all I can say old dear is that your sauce needs a little bit more salt to bring the flavour out )

We have been adopted by a young ginger tom cat , he turns up every time we return to Carvoeiro , we do not feed him , he just hangs around and demands attention.

We have not been able to find out if he is just a typical ( 3 homes cat ) or is a stray.

As he is still fully intact if a stray he ought to be "taken care of " and we would pay for the vets bill but unless we can find out his true status he will continue to live the " life of Riley "
