The dreaded PALM BEETLE!!!!!
After appearing to be quiet....the dreaded beetle has struck again....in my garden!!!!
I have 3 palms that are susceptible.......
One suddenly collapsed during the big wind...up until then we had been totally unaware of the infestation.
Big inch and a half long beetles....and the most REVOLTING, 2 inch long white grubs....UGHHHHHHHHHH
The centre of the tree has been reduced to like thick sand. On the outside looks totally healthy.
Our gardener has said that he can take alot of money off us by spraying....but no long term guarantees.....or....bite the bullet, remove and replace.
That is a good reason to have a permanent gardener......an honest, and client centred opinion!

Re: The dreaded PALM BEETLE!!!!!
Our gardener has put the traps in our garden & sprays the palms, it's not costing us a fortune & touch wood it seems to be working.

Treating can be very expensive and infinite. And may not always work. Red Palm Weevil
