GNR at the Airport

Post by EMM »

As many know it has been common practice for many to park their cars on the airport approach roads instead on the airport carparks. You could see many UK reg cars there.
Any one who has done this and now in the UK should be aware that the GNR are now clamping cars parked there.
They were out in force this morning. Lots of cars with big yellow clamps on the wheels.

Oh dear I bet there are many shocked car owners. Everytime we pass the approach to the airport it is full of parked cars. The other risk they take is their cars being broken into, why don't the owners pay to park it in a safe place at the park&fly lower down the road. To me having a UK reg car in Portugal is more hassle than its worth and not at all cost effective ie: having to take it back to the UK for an MOT ,plus the fact you risk the GNR checking your papers to see if its legal, many arn't and flout the law regarding matriculation.Would they ever forgive themselves if they knocked someone down and seriously injured them, obviously they think it will never happen to them.

Mods,

Could this topic also be added to the owners forum, as I suspect that there may be a few owners that this will affect and they may not check here.
