Strange how many would buy a business with their million euros, with all the pressures and ups and downs, especially with a business that depends on the tourist trade. Like Stacey, it would be a nice villa for me, slightly inland, but close enough for a quick trip to the beaches.
Of course, as i'm the wrong side of 65, my priorities will be different from the younger folks who see a business as a means to provide for their later years.

I agree, with the million id buy a nice villa or apartment and then hopefully have enough money to last me for a long time, but then again by the amount of money i spent in just two weeks there maybe it wouldnt last me long at all lol

With 1m €uros you could buy Ireland or Greece :D

You are spot on O Boteco is owned by Solferias...maybe they have got the name mixed up as the earlier post refers to the restaurant next door
Not sure what the restaurant next door is called... I was taking EMM's lead on that one... having far superior CVO knowledge than I. All I do know is that it never looked busy.
Didn't know there was a restaurant next door to boteco

O Boteco overlooks Paraiso beach (down a long flight of steps to the beach with the restaurant at the top) and there is no other restaurant nearby as O Boteco sits on its own.

Stacey, if you were on CVO beach and walked towards the town, turned left up the steep hill passing the indian restaurant, O Indiano, on your right then the ruin on the corner on your left you would then pass some townhouses on your left that have their roofs at road level and then you would see O Boteco on your left at the back of the car park beside the steps going down to the beach.

With €1m I would buy the Crabshak in Glasgow http://www.crabshakk.com/crab_files/cra ... d_food.pdf and O Boteco (might need €2m for both) and then turn O Boteco into the Crabshakk Algarve. If the Crabshakk could not be bought then it would be the Firehouse in Bath http://www.firehouserotisserie.co.uk/mainmenu.html and O Boteco would become The Firehouse Algarve!!! Either way I would then have to think how to spend the €1m net profit a year!!!!!

I think the earlier post is referring to the rental for the restaurant next door to the Round Up which Willie owns too - 'Happy's, Willie owns the premises. The million Willie wants is for the Round up, the Ice cream parlour & the restaurant as far as I understand what Willie has said. I don't think anyone has said there is a restaurant next door to Boteco. Just a carpark & scrubland either side & a sheer drop & road to the front & back. Apparently Solfeiras has had lots of offers for the place but won't sell it, which wouldn't be so bad if they did something with it.

I would re open the Boteco as a " Rick Stein " Franchise and probably lose another million in the process .

There's so many restaurant names I lose track of them all, and I've only been to CVO 3 times thus far which means I walk past restaurants and can't remember whether they've had favourable reviews on this forum or not.

So what we're saying is.... the restaurant next door to the Round Up is called Happy's which is included in the 1m asking price, and O Boteco has nothing to do with Big Will and is up the steep hill past the Indian? :?

Anyway I agree with the fact that Will makes the Round Up what it is and wouldn't be the same if he left, I'm not sure it would go under though.

We had lunch at Caneiros the other day & they now have the sunbeds just below the restaurant terrace. There were two women sunbathing, well my word, I don't know about a couple of crackers, more like a couple of H bombs! As my husband said "you don't get many of those to the pound".
