best we saw was tray 24 x 330ml tins of superbock and sagres 6.99 euros!! that was on offer in the supermarket used to be Modello now called Pau de Sucar if the spelling is correct...its in lagoa on road to slide and splash, they always seem to have a great offer check on left as you enter or over far left in the beer section....no real ale though!!

I'm all over that!

On a serious note............you jammy bastard, However on a related matter, I have to decide to book a drinks package on a cruise ship, so a bit of help please. 3 that only drink soft drinks and two ragin alcho heads! pub prices (£3.20 a pint) so normal prices (it is a Thomson ship) how much would you pay per day for the five of us?

Well the first cruise I went on was everything bar the drinks free - so my cabin accounts was alcohol, some photos, and a few bits and pieces. 2 of us - raging alcoholic (myself), casual drinker (dearly beloved) - cabin bill over £1100 for the 14 days.

Second cruise didn't bother with the photos and bits and bobs so much - cabin bill about £950.

(Stella was £2.70 a pint - double Gin and Tonic about £4.00 - the rest is a blur but on cruise 1, having met a few like mined people, myevening tab (11pm to 1:00am) was over £100 - beware, its easily done).

Thats about 75 smackers a day A Pompey boy would do that for breakfast. I have to say though not to keen on Portuguese beer so now drink water .. How is the weather back there in the old pink world

Weather in southern England - wet, windy, cold and bl**dy miserable! - and no phone calls telling me what the view look likes from your balcony thank you very much!!! - not appreciated in an air-conditioned office in Fareham

Hi All,
Although we didn't end up in CVO, we booked a car through Algarvedriver, so I guess its ok to post?
We're just back from the East Algarve and we loved the Santa Rita area, absolutely beautiful and Vilareal de Santo Antonio. Not a drop of rain for 2 weeks, or traffic.
Just to let you know the 30L barrel of Superbock lasted just 7 days so we topped up with bottles from the supermarket and gregarious amounts of the local vino.

We are going to return next year to the Algarve , but not sure where

Sorry. The cost of a 30 l barrel is 86 euros. So I got my maths wrong.
Not sure where it can be bought as it is being kindly provided by the owners .

Snaj, if you find out where the owners acquired the barrel from, can you let the rest of us know? I think this is a great idea for next summer
