Crise What Crise?
Re: Crise What Crise?
Yes. and that Anglo Irish Bank was one toxic pile of s***e. probably part of the reason for the loan, though to be fair to DC he appears to get on very well with our new taoiseach (pm). as he pointed out at the time UK exports more to Ireland most countries (and imports plenty too) so a default would have had a very negative impact on the UK as well as the rest of Europelaserblazer wrote:Wasn't a big fear with the Ireland situation the amount of UK money invested in Anglo Irish Bank?

anyway we just have to pick up the baton and run with it, nothing else for it. I estimate that I am paying over €1000 extra in direct taxes this year compared to last year, but sure there's no point in worrying about it, can't change it so just learn to live with it. Your health is you wealth as they say around here.
edited to add this bit: Ireland has an absolutely massive surplus of exports over imports with the rest of the world, a surplus of over 43billion in 2010. most of this was non Irish companys so a lot of the profit was repatriated but still a relatively healthy economy.

Morning Pato,
they are both toxic
but the really really really toxic one is Anglo Irish Bank
few depositors in the sense of most banks
even less borrowers (Tranmere travelling supporters would easily outnumber them
)
but boy did they know how to screw up bigtime

these figures are not thousands they are thousands of millions !

Re: Crise What Crise?
Are you aware that Tranmere's bank is The Allied Irish? I was a friend of the first Allied bank manager in the UK a chap called Sid Thompson who opened the first branch of AIB in the UK in Birkenhead, opened there to help the cattle traders from Ireland bank their cash.joeysoap wrote:Morning Pato,
