Your advice, please!

Post by IOM Nigel »

Hello, my friends!

We are coming over to Carvoeiro again, to our little apartment (near the P.O - next door to the sadly-departed 'O Forno de Fraser'!) for 11 days, arriving Saturday 27 August, around lunchtime, (after our usual visit en-route from the airport to my favourite supermarket of all time, 'Intermarche', for the usual bits; ham, cheese, chicken, salads, vegetables, bread, water, and not forgetting, the all-important rose wine!)

I'm SO looking forward to it, and whilst my 'other half', Jackie, is pretending to be ' super-cool' about it, I KNOW she is, too!

So, I look forward to seeing you all about the village..(I'll be the 'whitey', and you'll be all lovely and brown!)

Anyway, enough of that...I need your help and advice, please...

1. I want to buy a lidded charcoal barbeque locally, to use on our balcony - nothing too huge, and/or expensive - so, max. of GBP/EUR 50 - 60 or so....

2. I also want to buy a 'patio cleaner' - again, nothing too expensive - just something to clean off the 'muck' from our balcony floor / and external windows etc. - (so, around about the same price, I guess...)

If you have any suggestions of places to go to, I would be very grateful for your advice (we do have a car...)

Many thanks for any help you could give...

Best wishes to you all...

From a very excited Nige, from the Isle of Man!!

Suggest you visit Izi (used to be Mestre maco) on the EN125 in Lagoa - just been there today and they have everything you need. And a sale on as well until 15th September.

It's a bit like B&Q Stacey, which if you are into DIY or looking for stuff for your garden is fine! Casa is a pretty good store too if you want stuff for home and garden and trinkets, ask DaveK, who is obliged to visit at least once every trip!

Why don't you try the new Aqua shopping centre in Portimao, very bright and modern, with a huge supermarket and a Primark if you need a retail fix.
