FAO Gerry Cullen - hurling semi-final??

Post by Annie 2 »

Hi Gerry, hope you might be able to help me. Do you know if there any bars around Armacao or Carvoeiro that might show the hurling semi-final on August 8th (Setanta Sports)? We would love to see the Deise getting to the final. I know there is an Irish bar in Montechoro which will show it, but we don't really want to have to travel that far (although we will if we have to). Thanks for your help :-)

In a prevous post here was talk of the Tropical Bar near Roche Brava having Setanta TV. Seem to remember Gerry getting panic symptoms about this time too, or perhaps it was later on for the final.

Morning annie, theres a bar called the blues bar just on the porches side of armacao....come up the hill from the beach till you come to the marachino opp the petrol station...turn left and its just at the back of the marachino...they had some of the matches last year so i reckon ye might be lucky..by the way the resturant across the road..grelhadors?..is quite good..or if towards the end of the holiday your broke just around the next corner is restrante roda..six of us ..main meals 2 or 3 starters 2 or 3 deserts 10 pints of larger and 3 bottles of wine....69euro.The girls in the blues bar are reps for ..i think blueskys...and will give you all the advice you need.....if all these directions seem like a load of crap just follow the signposts for the viking hotel...anyway all the best to the deise ..much as i,d love to see them doing it i reckon the cats ,ll do it again and then i,ll have to listen to the hures for another year...by the way if your in faugheen for the faugheen 50 motorcycle races this weekend drop into the pub and i,ll give you as much info as i can..anyway happy holiday.
gerry.
