Family of Gooners (mum, dad and 8 yr old) coming out in August. Missing 3 games - 1 on Sky- 22/8 Middlesbrough home (what's the best place to watch it). One on 25/8 Blackburn home (will anywhere be showing this as its not scheduled for Sky - maybe Canal +?? One on pay per view in UK 28/9 Norwich away - will that be shown in Portugal?
Sad People
Mad
Why bother coming on holiday - why not 'camp-out' in North London.
You sad person and what a way to bring up an 8 year old - do the Child welfare people know about you

Come on chaps, that's a bit harsh don't you think? There's nothing wrong with showing passion for your team and keeping in touch with their fortunes when you're away. Some people will go to see live music while on their hols, some will like folk dancing, some will enjoy lapdancing
clubs etc etc
Mad, I'm sure there are bars showing the Sky games, although I couldn't tell you were they are so I'm only here to give moral support in this instance!
Mind you, I can't for the life of me understand why on earth you follow a bunch of no-hopers who regularly fail to win the Champion's League
Now if on the other hand you supported a great team such as Sunderland........

Perhaps you could convince MAD to go to the Costa del Sol and protect our sensitive and discerning minds from exposure to this irrational behaviour. It is more commonly found in Spain - isn't it
His next post will be a request for directions to a 'Chippy' after the football finishes:(

TD - what a rude person you are
Dearest TD, just because we enjoy following our team whilst enjoying our holidays does not mean that we will be asking the way to the nearest chippie. Remember a match only lasts 90 minutes and for many people is an enjoyable sport. Your pastime is golf, so what, that does not make you a better person than me. From reading my message you assume that I am a commoner who only eats fast food and holidays in the costa del sol! How rude and judgemental is that - what a snob you are!
I was just interested, to see if the bars show the sport in Carvoeiro. Have you forgotten that Euro 04 was held in Portugal or were you practising your swing!

Mad, You'll find that Smilers (you can't miss it as it's on the corner on the way to the beach), Joker's (also known as Mike's Bar) down the steps by the Grand Muralha Chinese restaurant and Mungo's Bar on the Estrada do Farol broadcast football matches and other sporting events on Sky. They have boards outside advertising the matches they'll be showing. I'm not sure if they show those not on Sky - perhaps you can ask at the Bars?
Unfortunately there is always someone who is very quick with a sarcastic remark on this forum. Each to their own and I hope you enjoy your holiday!

Rude - really
I am 'assuming' that MAD has now turned into Guest?
Whoever you are - I do like Football and Golf - in their place. I take considerable exception to seeing places adorned with signs that suggest the rest of the world has to have 'Englishism' rammed down its throat.
Full English Breakfast - Sky TV Live Football and all the other non Portuguese rubbish.
This is not about me being better than you - it is about Portugal being enjoyed for what it is and not transformed into another part of the diminishing empire.
Heaven forbid

"You sad person...... Get a life" Oh dear, td. I have been re-reading your posts, convinced there was a touch of mischief there or humour, but I really do believe you mean what you say. I have no riposte, I am merely shaking my head in disbelief that anyone could be so pompous.
I resent your remarks, sir and challenge you to a duel.
Pistols, swords, anything as long as it isn't acerbic, bitter, sarcastic "wit" as you are way ahead of anyone in that particular skill.

Anchovy,
Pompous - not really!
Intollerant would be more appropriate
