Real Ale in CVO?

On a slightly different note, for the more experienced visitors to the Algarve, am I correct that several years ago the draught Super Bock was a lot stronger - 6.7% and they reduced it to 5.6% about 6 yrs ago?
Was this due to alcohol tax levels, or, as in my first experience with it in 1997, when I felt distinctly light headed after coming off the beach and sinking 3 quick pints

I wondered about that - I can remember in the late 90's having a bottle of red wine for dinner and a few Superbocks afterwards - had double vision for ages - stayed away from it for a couple of years after that episode.

Tried it again in the last few years it has not had the same effect - I wondered why - thanks macassa

Sometimes it´s nice to be a Swede....., our expectations are well below zero of finding anything Swedish while abroad, except for Absolute Vodka and an occasional blonde......which both would be a great asset for a nice holiday though!

Apart from that, it´s just "go with the flow" I guess, no worries about ale or Heinz salad-dressings here!

Tourists are the lifeblood of CVO. If people are willing to spend their hard-earned cash in CVo does it really matter what they like
to eat/drink/wear as long as they are respectful of the local culture etc.

You should be able to express an opinion without being castigated for it.

The saying 'There's nowt no queerer than folk" springs to mind when reading this string.
