some details on 30 things the govt will be doing to solve the "crise"...I like the one about upping sales tax on cars! (saw new Citroen the other day 23000 euros here...in UK 13000)

also in separate report it seems vat is going up to maybe 25 percent (does anyone remember when vat came to uk it was 10 per cent)

I believe that IVA is increasing too on utilities, (Utilities charged at the lower rate of 6%) from 6% to 13%.

Don't worry about it Portugal, look at Greece, the EU are throwing euros at them left right and centre, just carry on as you are, cash in hand, know worra! mean, they'll bail you out no matter what, they can't afford to lose you. :lol:

It is that attitude that has got Portugal in the shite in the first place, pay your taxes stop relying on others to bail you out . Hospitals and schools are going to suffer, there will be more fines impossed and honest people will be paying for good for nothings like you . Both expats and Portuguese are not taking this seriously at all and trust me what has Portugal got to offer the EU ? nothing !!!! They can very much afford to lose the lazy relative.

I too am surprised in comparison to Greece that there is not more anger here, perhaps its because the measures demanded by the e.u have not started to bite

Greece is important to the EU for several important military bases - Portugal has Nada to offer.
