Sorry.... Tolls again

Is there any info yet as to whether the tolls will be implemented this year? We have friends going out in July and wanted to give them up to date information. Thanks..

LJ -The tolls question will reportedly be considered by the new government but nobody knows when so it's very doubtful that anything will be in place by July

Christ the general elections were only yesterday and the new goverment will only take over next month.

its probably been answered elsewhere but how much are we talking between Faro and carvoeiro?....is it so much that we have to panic and send people a different route vs the cost of a holiday?

Estimated cost I think is about 6 euros each way ( 8 cents Km ), hardly going to break the bank even if it is double.

For tourists and other foreign visitors, the problem is not the cost itself, its the fines and penalties, because as a non-resident you'll have great difficulty paying the real tolls - unless....

The problem is that there is no easy way to pay the tolls, that is convenient to every one. The cost itself is not great.

It is not the cost at all but HOW you pay it if you are leaving to go to the airport at the end of your holiday early how do you find somewhere to pay for the toll????? THIS is the problem NOT the cost........
