A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
Re: A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
The BonBon at Sesmarias near the water tower is still our favourite - particularly Fridays when they have a duo playing - very consistent in quality, reduced prices compared to a year or so ago when they had a reputation for being overpriced, and lovely views towards Portimao and Monchique.

Pimenta preta mush have improved a lot since my daughter & I went there, not fine dining at all just a ridiculously pretentious menu & invasive service, must give it another go after all the recent glowing reports.

Hi all,
I would definitely recommend " Pete Plod's Pizzareia" on Rua do Pescadores!
Without doubt the last word in Nouvelle Cuisine and the trendiest place to be seen this summer!
Monsieur Plod has enlisted the services of Michelin 3 star rated chefs Sam and Ella.
The service is exquisite, and after my last visit , I can honestly say I was glued to my seat (toilet) for the rest of the week!
It is open from June till July, 30th June till 1st July.
Naturally booking is essential, as is ensuring you have had a tetanus in the last 5 years.
So come on diners of Carvoeiro , discover the last hidden gem the village has to offer!
Ciao, ciao.

Funny you should mention Pete's place - last year there was an episode of dogs being poisoned shortly after I had put the left-overs of one of his lasagnes in the rubbish

talk about overcooking a post - why didn't you just call it the in road like everyone else?Cooler King wrote:Hi all,

I have been accused of mendacity and verbosity in the past! How preposterous is that !
Long live Rua do Pescadores! Tourist free for 130 years!

Re: A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
why is the 'in road' so quiet?? I have noticed that most businesses close after a few weeks
Re: A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
I cannot work out where Onze is on the map as there are so many markers. Is it in the main CVO village, ie restaurant hill etc? What about NY Eve. Is that any good?e-richard wrote:See Restaurant Map for location

Re: A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
You can zoom the map in and out so you can see exactly where everything is. It is the little slide bar on the left with + and - on it.
Re: A bit more upmarket recommendation please.
LICY if you come down the 'in' road it is on the left hand side of the beach on the hill.
Havent been on NYE, the only place we have been for NYE was Maximes and the atmosphere was very good.

I have eaten there too and would recommend Bon Bons' I believe the duo is a Friday evening as we certainly enjoyed a bit of a dance one evenng, albeit that is probably about 2-3 years ago now. I just tried to email them but it bounced back, regarding NYE to find out info.roy4eyes wrote:The BonBon at Sesmarias near the water tower is still our favourite - particularly Fridays when they have a duo playing - very consistent in quality, reduced prices compared to a year or so ago when they had a reputation for being overpriced, and lovely views towards Portimao and Monchique.
