I'd give somewhere else a miss, the hill is something else Is your bf hoping for great seaviews from the apartment? If so, you may want to take advice from people who know Monte cvo. about that.

Monte Carvoeiro is hilly to get to, but when we brought my mother-in-law 2 years ago she had a bad hip and we just used taxis to get from the bottom - she was OK walking down. Cost 5euros incl tip at about 10:30 at night - sometimes there was a bit of a wait at the taxi rank.

MCVO has limted sea-views - a few do have very good views but on the whole it is limited - but a good resort to go and flat when you are there.
