Restaurants

Post by biffa »

Dear Annie2

Can't recall names of A de P restaurants offhand. Some with seaviews are located just after the end of the main Avenida (promenade) on the right hand side (sea side of course) where the road narrows but these may be a bit pricey as intended for tourists.

A good cheaper one is Estrela do Mar which is basically a beach bar down by the fishermans beach past the narrow bit I mention above. You can sit on their terrace which is right on the beach and enjoy fresh grilled sardines at about 7 Euros.

A de P gets very busy with Portuguese tourists in July and August so may not be best bet if you are here then. Beaches beyond A de P towards Albufeira are pretty clear all summer though. You get to those by continuing along the main road (EN125) and turning off at Pêra to find the "lower" coast road. There you will find Praia Grande, Salgados, Galé etc.

 Hi Annie2
Down at the fishermans beach is a really nice restaurant called Hera, just before the roundabout. We have had good meals there so far, and the staff are very good. If this is any help.

no one mentioned O Castelo or Tia Ilda going up past the farmacia. Or the others over the otherside , are they open? By the way for great ice cream (the coconut is a must) try the little shop next to the Round Up mmmmm

The restaurant on Pintadinho beach at Ferragudo is a must...
Lovely shellfish rice with an Algarvian salad, few bottles of green wine
and crash out on the sand afterwards. That´s life...

But seeing that the weather is real muggy here in London, know what I could get my mouth round right now?
A huge luscious creamy cone with juice running down the sides! :P
From that icecream place next to Sullys?
Trouble is you have one and you want more.If youre greedy like me

Hi Peter, Yes, emergency landings have been many, problem is the best nights are always hard to remember.....

and Tabbylove, correct me if I´m wrong, but I was under the impression you rather have something hard and harty then freezing and fluffy....

Sea View

If you go onto http://groups.msn.com/BanterBonanza and look at pictures, the bottom one, you will see a bar/restaurant with a real sea view.

Problem is it was in Brazil!
