Abandoned young male dog

Post by Silki »

Just been up to the lighthouse in Carvoeiro for dog walks and it appears that a young male dog, black with tan markings has been cruelly abandoned for a couple of days. I spoke to some English people last evening who said it had been there the previous day and had been limping. Earlier at the weekend there were two Dutch registered motorhomes parked up and I think I saw the dog seated next to the lady there. Maybe they befriended him and then went of their way or maybe they abandoned him? Either way I thought it worth a try to post this on here, maybe he is lost. Very timid and doesn't like his back being touched so perhaps he has been hit by a car.
He is quite young but not a small pup. Medium size, skinny, perhaps of Pinscher descent. Very pricked ears and pointed nose. Predominantly black with tan markings around his eyes. I took him some food and will return soon with some water to leave there as I saw no puddles after the rain!! Meantime, I'll phone the local vets to see if he has been reported missing and failing this will try to get the APAA to go and see him. Fingers crossed we can find his owner for him.

I hope somebody does claim the poor soul.
It is really kind of you to look out for him.

Can you post a picture? It would help to identify it.

Hi there again. No unfortunately this little dog was abandoned a few weeks ago now. Must say I haven't seen him for a while, I did see him once again running up the hill opposite Julio's restaurant and someone told me he had migrated to Club Atlantico. Maybe some kind soul has taken him in as he was very distressed. When I returned the day of my posting with more food and water for him he was gone, but we did suffer a tremendous thunderstorm in the meantime.
Looks like there is a happy ending for Shanagarry's dog Noah though, fingers crossed and we all wait for the expected update! Silki
