2011 Census
Well, like a good citizen, I duelly opened up my census form, logged on line, opened my unique PIN number, selected the English option, where it confirmed that I had put in the correct I/D and PIN, selected the next prompt....and it came up with the census form....in Portuguese.
so I tried all over again. Same result.
So I dialled the 800 22 20 11 helpline number. Got a message in Portuguese, and was immediately left with a dial tone.
.....at that point, I thought..."Sod it!!"
Well.....I tried.

Re: 2011 Census
Are you in Portugal? I just logged in and it works fine if you're in Lincoln.
Re: 2011 Census
I assume you are talking about the Portuguese Censos 2011 at "censos.ine.pt" rather than the UK census.
What are the requirements for holiday properties?
The letter that was issued in February didn't really say much and I've not had anything else since.

Yes...I AM speaking of the Portuguese census, and I'm talking when you put your PIN, and attempt to progress into the body of the census.
Somebody else I know of out here has encountered the same problem.

Touche !
Re: 2011 Census
We have just completed our Census forms that were delivered to our home address. There are 3 forms to complete, one about the household, one about the dwelling and then an individual one for each person that lives in the house.
We were also given, English translations for all of these forms. We need to give these back when they come to collect our Census forms, but in the meantime we have them at the restaurant for you to come and look at to be able to complete your own Census forms.
Our understanding is that if these forms are not completed then you could be liable for a fine ranging from €2500 to £10000 and that they do need to be completed for all properties.
Hope this will be of help to some of you

Re: 2011 Census
What are you meant to do if you don't live there? We own a house there but are in the UK at the moment and won't be back out for a few months.

I found some very good information here:
http://www.vale-da-telha.eu/vdt-forum/f ... 7&PID=8178
If you go to the end of the thread it covers empty holiday homes.

Thank you Farol, that is really useful. Phew! Glad we're not in line for the fine!
