[quote="Ellie"]I had a nice 'sardina' salad at this restaurant....and some lovely fruit juice :P ..plus a very crusty roll & butter!

The views are gorgeous :)

To be fair, Ellie, that must have been about 10 years ago....and it takes some doing to ruin a few sardines on a barbeque!

It doesnt matter how good the views are....if the food is crap.....the food is crap!!

I feel very privileged or lucky - I've been going to this restaurant for over 12 years now - oftern twice a holiday and I've never - I repaet never - had a bad meal there. The only criticism, if it is one, is that the service can sometimes be slow.

Nice view, proper pint glasses and friendly staff.

Reading some of these posts I think that some are confused between the Boteco ( by the small car park above the cove on your way to Monte Carvoeiro and the other place Boneca ? which is in algar seco.

The two could not be further apart both in idstance and type of food served.

The former is a typical Portuguese fish based place the other has a much more tourist based menu.

I have not tried the Boteco and found the Algar seco place to be overpriced, 80 euros for lunch for 4, no main meals just off the snack menu plus deserts and few drinks.
