lunch
Re: lunch
Day 2 for the Crazy Chicken in Boavista & a few of us popped over for a bit of lunch,
the €7.50 set lunch menu had some good choices on it, roast pork, braised beef, a chicken & a fish dish
fancying some chicken piri piri some of us went off piste a bit, had the couvert; some nice olives & garlic carrots, sardine pate with some fresh & tasty bread; the piri piri was good, half a chicken for €6 with nice chips; all washed down with a glass of beer & some wine
the restaurant is very nicely fitted inside, nice furniture, interesting things on the wall, thoughtful decoration; the toilets are very nice. Seating in the main restaurant is for about 30, there's seating outside for about 50, and there's a cafe with nice bar adjacent.
All in all a very nice experience, pleasant and helpful staff; this place will (should) be a hit, it's well positioned both for local & passing trade; O'Barranco will be dropped in favour of the (curiously named) Crazy Chicken for our lunchers

Re: lunch
Tried the new "Crazy Chicken" restaurant last week. The refurb is quite spectacular as befits a "posh" restaurant, but the fare was strictly Portuguese daily food. The €7.50 set lunch offers 3 choices. Our party of 4 ensured we tried all of them, and the unanimous decision was a thumbs up for taste, quality and value.
Now, they messed up our main course orders, but the reaction from the staff was all smiles, profuse apologies and very swift correction, so my lasting impression of the service was actually very positive. They deserve to do well.
Must try the evening a la carte one of these bright and sunny days
