Many thanks for all the responses. Escondidinhos opens tonight so my parents are very happy and are going to get there nice and early to get a good seat!

Just to answer the "budget" restaurant comments, my parents other favourite place is O'Algar in Benagil which is probably at the other end of the scale. With an average meal for 2 coming in at €50+ I think their (and my own) contribution to the economy of the algarve has been better than most. I have always found the majority of restaurants at either end of the price scale offer excellent value and friendly service. In 15 years of visiting CVO I can list the bad meals on the fingers of one hand.I think this says it all!

Thanks again.

You obviously haven't been out there at the same time to me then........ pure class
Moi aussi!!!

We were talking to one of the owners of the new Frango restaurant last week( was Boavista Bar ), frustrated by endless issues with the camara they are working as fast as they can to get the place open.
They hope it will be just a few weeks.
This will bring a much needed facility to our part of Carvoeiro.

We have just spent 5 weeks in Carvoeiro and it is a bit difficult when most of the restaurants
you like are shut for holidays but one that we can thoroughly recommend is Chrisseys in Lagoa
lovely food and priced in a way that you know exactly what you will be paying 25 euros for a main
course and a desert including cover, wine, water and coffee 30 euros for starter and main course
or 32 euros for all three courses this we felt was really good value for money.

Totally agree, high quality food and wine at a set price (most on here should know the chef Saul and had waiter Pedro from their time in the village) Debbie and Louie own it and look after everyone there, if you dont have a car jump a taxi its only a few euros and tuck into the house wine.......did the missus birthday there and it was top notch...highly recommended as a change to the village

we tried that, called a cab, (we live in Vale do Milho), he turned up on time, took us to Chrissy's and asked for €13!, I mentioned that we'd only come to Lagoa, not Spain; he said that he starts the clock when he leaves the stand near the square, next time we're tossing a coin about the driving

Simplest way to find Escondidinho´s is to drive through Quinta de Paraiso , coming from the town, its on the edge on the left. Good value meal for 9 euros per person ( don't be put off by appearances)......we went on tuesday and there were about 30 there at 8pm.

Went to Chrissy's on saturday to try it out.....very nice indeed!

Only just seen this posting - Harry is working for his father as a landscape gardener, so we were informed by Libbe.
