PT Broadband Setup

Post by Mexican Pete »

Can anyone give me a steer on how straightforward, or otherwise, it is to set up PT’s broadband? My Portuguese is rather limited, so it would be good if there were instructions in English; although that’s probably wishful thinking. I know that World Telecom are far better for service, but really can’t justify the spend on their package the mobile part of which we simply wouldn’t use.
Any advice gratefully received!

A little hint:

When you call the helpline number, and you hear the menu in Portuguese, just press 9 and you'll be put through to an English speaking support person.

Hi Pete

I use the Sapo pay as you go connection and got a very easy to follow pictoral leaflet with it as well as the Portuguese wording. I can also vouch for the English helpline - better than virtual all call centres I have encountered in blighty!! Although the last time I rang the helpline the English language option had been removed from the list?

I have found SAPO very poor in handling account queries and complaints but their technical support is good. Simply ask for someone who speaks English and you will be connected to an agent who will do this. I have set up a couple of the SAPO modem routers with no problem but if you encounter a snag phone SAPO for help.
