Try http://www.abbeygateportugal.com - they are forever advertising on the radio - my insurance is due next month so I will try them - as well as the others suggested

i have used abbeygate fro my car insurance for the past 2 years&found them very good service&price wise.i insure an audi tt just third party only for any driver over the age of 30 it costs me 380 euros per year

It's a brave man insuring a nice car like that on third part only - below is a comment from a thread on another site. Turns out the guy who wrote it also only had third party.

I was recently hit by a truck coming towards me on the wrong side of a mountain road near Monchique. Fault 100% his.
He drove off without stopping but I got his matriculation/reg number. The police haven’t been able to trace the truck, so either I got a couple of the letters wrong or it was a false plate, therefore the probability of finding him is apparently very low and I was advised to start looking for him myself (which I am trying to make the time for, without a car).
My insurance won’t pay.
The damage to my car is several thousand euros and is about the figure I paid for it, just 3 months ago. I spent months saving for it.
