Hi Geoff
We are intersted in the walk on 31 December. However, have a bit of a dodgy knee so is it likely to be difficult? If fairly flat count us in.

Sorry to hear that Sue is ill, and that you weren't able to fly out.
Hope she is better soon and that I will be able to meet you on a future occasion.
November before last I walked along the coast from the Guadiana River to Ferragudo in stages of approx 12 miles, and last January I continued from Praia da Rocha to Salema in stages. I hoped to reach Cape St Vincent last month but the weather and the terrain defeated me. Might try some more in January if the weather and the golf allow.
I can recommend the coastal walk; it is mighty interesting and the scenery changes from stretch to stretch.

Very impressive! did you manage to find accoommodation OK?
We have done Lagos to ?Zavia , but had to make each section a circular walk , which impedes progress.....there is a bus service, but it is infrequent!
The cliff path is also a bit hit-&-miss as you get further west!
Will catch up one day I am sure...we will be out again mid-april to mid-May.

The friend I came with does not particularly like walking (except round a golf course) so he drove and dropped me off and picked me up at the next stage. We kept in touch with mobiles. Beyond Salema the paths are very tricky and it is difficult to walk anywhere near the sea, which was the whole point of what I wanted to do. If the weather is kind in January I might have another go.
