I always thought Carvoeiro winters were blistering hot - obviously not, judging by the comments here.

If each December there is going to be heavy snow in the UK it may be better for people to stay in the UK. Huge delays going or coming back will take the goodness out of it.

London today has had about 6 inches of snow and I fell off the the bloody ladder in the garden putting up bird feeders for our freezing starving feathered friends! :?

I assume you did not do the required risk assessment and consider the working at heights legislation before trying to feed our feathered friends.
I'm sure they appreciate the effort. I keep trying to feed the birds, but the squirrel keeps appearing for first pick.

Think yourself lucky that Ellie doesn't have any interest in General else she'd be telling us all how she and eco miss Rod! :P

btw, missed you this morning at Rosa's due to the stair things (Ellie might be looking!). Fancy some other day for a meet-up?

Looks like a sunny Christmas day :D The last two have been very damp, hopefully it will mean we can at least have starters outside :)

No way Mr Faro
The weathers been so grim here that sometimes the street lights aren’t going off during the day
Last year, just before x-mas, we just got out of Gatwick before it was snowed off, got off the plane and drove to CVO and ,on the very same day, sat outside the little bar up at "Carvoeiro Clube" sheltered from the wind in lovely warm sunshine, absolute heaven.
We'd have gladly waited 24 hours at Gatwick to escape the UK's grim winter days 8)
Judging by the forecast it might actually happen this time around in a couple of weeks

After last years rain and more this year, nothing can compare with the Snow and Ice we have just experienced in the U.K. It took us five Days to get back, two cancelled flights and if we had not made this flight, would not be back till the New Year. Thirteen hour car journeys, which normally take two and the thermometer never went above -1c in London in the past two weeks. It is a real joy to be back home in Carvoeiro and to enjoy the great life this Country and People offer. However the Snow on the Hedgerows did make a pretty Picture.

I just walked down from QdP and up Restaurant Hill to Barclays, which had shut, then back down the hill as it chucked it down. Hope it stops soon as I'd planned to meet the Cranes at MaJas for 6.30pm. But it's really mild and great when the sun pokes through.
