Lie down in a darkened room for a week or two and when you come round you might realise what it's like to be in the real world. You were not robbed - your tactics were inadequate in exactly the same way they were against the French.

The English disease of blaming everybody else for your misfortune is blinding you all from the harsh reality - you are not world beaters, you don't even come close.

So stop taking side swipes at everybody else and face up to reality - you are not good enough and also remember that 1966 saw you benefit from an 'iffy' decision - Did you complain then :?

Not so much that we are bad losers but that others crow over us losing.Bit strong when it comes from those you never even qualified.

Euro 2004

As usual it was the ref., the green, maybe Saddam or whatever..........what a joke. Poor England ! You never made it when it got to the nitty-gritty and you never will.

It´s about time for you to become humble.

Qualification

Post by td »

I have no problem with your reaction to those who did not qualify to play in Euro 2004 - we were not good enough for all the reasons covered elsewhere in this forum.

What galls me is the way we have been force-fed the so-called brilliance and quality of the English team only for it to end, as it always does, in tears. So do not be surprised at the reaction from those of us who have been mislead by the hype.

There will more tears when, Mr Unreliable Henman disaapoints again. Cut the hype and concentrate on perfecting the art of winning. Clive Woodward did it - so it can be done.

Stop deluding yourselves and achieve something tangible - for a change :)

I wonder why everyone is glad to see england out....? or why every other part of the UK were supporting Portugal....? Could it be that you have a bad reputaion....no, wait, I am sure there were some incidents where people got beaten up, bars trashed....

Get your fans sorted and you may not get that much grief in the future!

Think it's about time for Sven to think about replacing Beckham as Captain. Beckham has been useless throughout the tournament - he has got too big for his boots and playing well on the pitch is not his priority anymore. Wonderful to see Owen score and shut up the usual whingers

England Poor Losers

Post by td »

As last night's game came to an end, the pub I watched the game in emptied in minutes - long faces and gestures of aggression were evident as people went into the night.

In my Taxi on the way home I saw Police Vans with their flashing blue lights and the officers wrestling with the yobs and morons - all wearing England shirts and painted faces - Albufeira, Lisbon? - no it was Chichester, in West Sussex a small English city renowned for it's gentle folk and tranquility :?

Why are you English so surprised when us non-English want anybody but England to win :?

Must say I am in tears now - tears of laughter. What a bundle of histrionics about a bunch of over paid primadonnas kicking a bag of air around a field. If ever there was going to be a predictable thread, this is it. Keep it up guys, it has the makings of becoming a really good nationality slanging match

English Yob Culture

Post by td »

Ellie

That is not the answer - resigning yourself to the debilitating English Yob Culture is not right - it has to be elliminated before the Nation is ostracised by the rest of the 'civilised' world :?

There is no doubt that the disease has spread to Germany, Holland, Turkey and a few other heavily populated places - where football is a religion.

This disease is not wholly attributable to English people, just the minority of football morons hell bent on disturbing the peaceful existence of every self respecting citizen.

As a stark contrast you only have to visit a Rugby International to see how proper people behave when they are full of beer and bon homie. I hope Tim Henman delivers but :o

hey td, if you manage to read the posts properly through those tears of laughter of yours, you'd see that I acknowledged Portugal to be the best team on the night.

Still hurts to go out in such a manner. What really gets up my nose this morning though are the likes of you and dodger.

There are a lot of things about the current England set up that are woefully lacking, such as the fact that if our best striker is completely out of touch and his wonderkid partner goes off injured, the best we can do is bring on either a donkey (Sven wouldn't dare last night for fear of being lynched) or a trier with no skill who can't get a game for his club side.

The manager is another who I feel is overpaid and overvalued and always gives the impression that he hasn't a clue what he's doing.

Yes, England are out... go ahead and gloat...... AT LEAST WE QUALIFIED!!
