Does this mean no lights in Carvoeiro this year?

There's barely any lights any year. Apart from the Feliz Natal banner across the top of the 'in road' & the blue christmas tree in the square.
Lagoa on the other hand, a beautiful display.

Replace 'Lagoa' with 'everywhere else' and you're spot on!

Who funds the sparse existing ones? Is it the camera?
In the suburb of Altrincham where I live, the council stopped erecting Christmas lights due to budget restraints. Then local traders got together and they chip in each year to provide the lights in the town centre (the council provides the men to put them up). Do CVO businesses do anything like this?

True, even Guia has a really good display. Apparently the Lagoa camara doesn't think Carvoeiro is worth it.

Apart from Portimao virtually every council in the Algarve is cutting back, and who can blame them.

Maybe some of our wealthier expats can transform their villas in the way that is now common in the UK.

There could then be a tour of these illuiniated christmas palaces with donations donated to charity.

How about it Shanagarry bring some christmas cheer into the lives of we poor brits. :)

Here in the beautiful East Midlands, the blow up Santas and Rudolph, team and sled adorn many a roof top in life size. Our first spotting of Christmas decorations was in Cornwall in mid-October, where a very fetching display of flashing 500 watt bulbs framed the window of what could have been, for all I know, a fisherman's dwelling.

The question I am asking myself is, would I sooner be in Carvoeiro, even without lights?
