Widge
Since moving here we have terminated the agreement with our management company. Far from being 'useless' - they were magnificent - the fault does not lie with them, it's with PT's record keeping. Anyway, I have now cancelled all broadband relationships with PT and for the moment - I still have a landline with them but intend moving that to World Telecom later this week.
Hopefully that will do the job.

Shanagarry,
If you have a moment, I for one would be very interested to know how things have gone with World Telecom.
Thanks, Pete

Pete
I can't fault their service levels - they are very responsive when I have a need. I am still having problems with PT in that I get a bill every month for a telephone I do not have or recognise and WT are helping me get it sorted.
Their charges are as they specify but if you go outside the tariff (make calls to UK mobiles, non UK/Portugal/Spain numbers) they are very expensive.
I have dealt with Pedro (South African) whose English is perfect and he is efficient. Overall, I am very happy with them.
Hope that helps

Shanagarry, did I not see PT engineers busy puting up new poles just outside of your place last week, obviously still not got the message.
We gave up with PT went for cable instead.

Not to my knowledge.EMM wrote:did I not see PT engineers busy puting up new poles just outside of your place
I have just returned from my monthly trip to the PT Shop in Algarve Shopping where I have to challenge a bill I receive each month for a number I have no connection with. The girls behind the 'jump' know exactly what to do but the bills keep coming. While I was waiting the three people ahead of me (all Brits) had complaints/queries about various aspects of their bills.
It must be demoralising for the youngsters behind the 'jump' as their English is not perfect and they have to take a lot of flak - through no fault of theirs. They (PT) could do with putting people with better English in that store, give the large number of ex-pats around that area. You could argue that we should be speaking Portuguese but don't speak it good enough to get our point across.
The saga continues after I received a letter from PT this morning that says something about 'deactivation' - given that I do not have a PT line - that should be interesting. I'm off to Pedro in World Telecom shortly to get his interpretation.
The saga continues - good job I have a sense of humour
