Credit card scam at Faro airport petrol station

YOR cars are writing down all the details from the credit card when I pay in cash

Of course they are - how else can they trace you if you run off with their car

I repeat. Last week I paid 65 euros in cash to Zitauto and off I drove. So far as I can remember they do not have my credit card details.

Booked online and gave my name, passport number and driving licence.

That's as I thought - that way they have all your details. If you show up at the airport 'on-spec' there's no way you would get a car without providing full details including credit card verification. The numbers of times rental companies have been caught by scammers operating with a stolen credit card and getting a £15,000 car for £300 are legion

I also booked online providing name,address and driving licence details which were checked when I collected the car. I didn't turn up on spec. - I paid cash to take advantage of the discount for cash. Have used Zitauto before - may revert back
