Ill definitely have to try Rod's venison with chocolate sauce..heard of chicken with chocolate..supposed to be very nice too....and the merlot/fig one sounds very challenging but rather good!..
shame theres no oxo though :P
Got salmon salad tonight..so no oxo again..oh I dunno thought...

Have a question for Rob now?
Some Dutch friends used to make a dish using cold apple sauce.
It was served with a long pork sausage(curled up) and potatoes creamed with onion(fried I think) and grated carrot. This was served with the apple sauce. Very nice..but cant recall the name of dish :?
Oh this is me.....now going to serve up salad..minus Oxo!

HUTSPOT

INGREDIENTS:
1 kg (winter)carrots
1 kg potatoes
500 grams onion
salt
pepper
butter

INSTRUCTIONS:

Peel the potatoes, onion & carrots and cut them in pieces. Cook in boiling
water for about 1/2 hour (till the potatoes are soft). Strain the vegetables
and mash till it looks like a puree . For taste, add salt, pepper and a little
butter.

For variation: You can flavor the hutspot with ketjap manis or Sambal.
You can also add your favorite sausage.

Frie the onion first in a little butter or olive oil; than it tastes much better!
You can also add your favorite sausage.
You also can use "speklapjes" or "HEMA rookworst)

:D Good morning Ellie, well I took notice of the menu above but nu bells start ringing here.........haha. It is not a typical Dutch dish I know of but it sure sounds nice! Perhaps Peter Belefante recoginizes the dish to be typical Dutch?
(Peter weet je zeker dat mensen weten wat Hema Worst en speklapjes zijn? - lol!)
Anyway, if you get to know the name please let me know okay! Take care!
