It is even available here in Picton at $12.95 or 9.61 Euros! :roll:

Sounds familiar with the duty free shops - usually everything is more expensive than the shops!

Gazella and Casal garcia now on the bottom of our preffered purchases. There is a huge variety of Vinho Verdes and Alvarinhos to chose from ( often cheaper ) .

Gazella and Casal are safe " brands " and a good way to introduce yourself to Portuguese wine.

Add Quinta da Grihos to that list.

This is a funny thread. i look at Gazella wine as a swilling wine. I like it (mostly because I prefer buying the small bottles) but prefer the other vinho verdes in taste. I can find it in the US for $6.00/bottle.

We found a pleasant one - by mistake - bought the wrong bottle - In pingo called Nico - gorgeous and <€2 per bottle!! - bought the red yesterday to try.

Fonte de Nico is a favourite of ours too (and maccasa, they already run low, so stop advertising it!)
