has anybody got any info on good/reasonably priced providers for a landline with internet???im with"pt" at the moment&i am paying approx 52 euros per month.i have had "world telecom" give me aquote which is for landline with free calls to the uk&free poprtugal calls,4mpbs broadband&a free mobile account with 10 euros of free credit every month all for 55 euors per month.seems like a good deal but i was wondering if anybody is with them or has been with them&could enlighten me to what their service is like?????????

I have been through all this in July. I got a lot of help from people on here and in the end I went with World Telecom for landline and mobiles (2) - the cost per month for the lot is €29.99. Included in that are the free calls to UK/Portugal/Spain landlines (not mobiles) calls and we also have 2 Portuguese (Optimus) mobiles that provides us with €10 per month of 'free' calls - through the same deal.
I did the rounds when researching the best deal and I cannot fault the attention I received. I had a spare o2 iPhone that we wanted to use and they arranged to have it unlocked for us. I am using it on my Optimus account.
I had a nightmare scenario with PT when trying to get my ADSL line transferred to this property - in the end I bought the Optimus Kanguru system for €69 and pay €30 per month for unlimited broadband (12 month contract). I am a heavy user and this is a fraction of what I paid in the UK. The Kanguru system is a minute 4" x 3" x 1" - it is wireless (with a built in dongle) and where we live we get the full signal. I do know that in parts of the village the Optimus signal is very poor - so check before you buy (if that's what you are going to do). I could have had all that through the World telecom deal but had bought the Kanguru before discovering the WT deal. In any event there is no price difference.

So far so good but it's early days. Tomorrow is the acid-test to see if the mobiles top up automatically.
I received my PT bill yesterday for calls I made in July and it amounted to €83. I have made a similar amount of calls this month and should only pay €19.99 - that's a good deal - on paper.
The attention from the people at their office is excellent and they dealt with the change from PT reasonably quickly - which I am told is not quite a straightforward process as PT are reluctant to part with clients - understandably.
If I have anything untoward to comment on WT - I will post it here - otherwise take it as good news if you see nothing.
