Replacement LNB on satellite dish.

We've been charged 90 euros to replace the LNB on our satellite dish (currently in UK or I'm pretty sure I could've done it myself!) This sounds a lot to me - am I being unreasonable? (Only a 2 bed apt - not a major climb to the top of a massive villa!)

Hi my name is Mark from Skyrealm, In response to your question, it all depends on the type, make & how many outlets the LNB has.

For instance if it was a single universal LNB then I would have to say that is a bit steep, if on the other hand it was a quad Prime Focus LNB then its on the cheap side.
Bear in mind whoever did the job should have used a quality meter to set the LNB in exactly the correct position.

E bay has a lot of LNB's - a quad for Sky sells for ~ £15, so I reckon they are charging you danger money for getting on the roof to fix it!

The problem is that a 15 pounds Sky quad with a noise level of 0.6db is fine for the U.K. but will not even fit on a prime Focus dish here. We fit, as do most companies here, 0.3db Inva-com Prime Focus LNB's with a quality feed horn. You then need a good meter to set the skew correctly once fitted.

For an Inva-com quad LNB, feed horn and fitting, we would charge 130 euros. 100 euros for the equipment, which is the best on the market, and 30 euros for collecting and delivery, fitting it, setting it correctly with a meter, our diesel, advertising, wages and danger money.

a cheap lnb fitted by sky in the uk would be £60 ,
i can buy sky quads for £10 each in the uk
but a prime focus lnb and fitting in the uk would be at least £150 so your 90 euros is not a bad price
