Sky subscription
Sky subscription
We have bought a house in Carvoeiro and would like to receive Sky (full package). One company that can arrange this for us is http://storesatellite.com
They charge L 120 per year and L 45 per month for the Sky card.
Has anybody had any experience with this company and are they reliable?
Thanks!

Re: Sky subscription
If you live in the UK yourself just apply for it yourself, why pay other to do it for you.
Re: Sky subscription
Of course it is an infringement of your contract with Sky to receive their signal on their equipment outside of the UK.
But if you do you will have to carry your box and card back and forward with you.
The new SKY cards are box specific uless you can reconfigure your box.

Re: Sky subscription
We used SKYREALM recently for our SKY subscription. Their number is 918887775 or email skyrealm@hotmail.co.uk, they are based in Carvoeiro.

If you are in the fortunate position of being able to do it for yourself - good for you - I'm not and Rui and Cristina has done a great job setting the entire system up for meANDY wrote:why pay other to do it for you.

EMM
please will you stop saying The new SKY cards are box specific uless you can reconfigure your box.
as i have said to numerous of your posts its not true ,my cards out here had expired [old blues ones ] so i conducted a experiment as you keep saying they dont work
this time i came with 4 white cards 2 freesat white cards and 2 hd cards with recording switched on both none of these have been in portugal before they were switched on in the uk the week before i came to different boxes
my 2 freesat white cards worked imediately i plugged them into the boxes and went to the region i come from in the uk
one hd card started working a few minuites later on recording and hd
one hd card i put in the skyplus worked on recording [no hd as it isnt a hd box] both of these cards i could do my normal recording and even watch my pre recorded programs i had recorded last time i was out here
you will not get the premium channels ie movies and sport but you get everything else [if you tell sky in the uk your new reciever numbers they will switch the card on fully and you will get what you pay for in the uk] but dont tell them you are in portugal or use a portugal phone to call them you can call them on skype or get someone to call them from the uk
so if you bring your cards that you use at home you will get the same exept the premium channels which leaves you with loads of tv to watch
if anyone wants any sky subscriptions or sky boxes i can arrange at the same charges as the uk i am uk based but spend a lot of time at my villa out here
i dont do any installations i can just suppy equiptment and subs without you being ripped of [except by sky lol ]

Re: Sky subscription
MD600 you are obviously out to get business so please don,t object if I say that you are biased.
Its is very simple the old Blue card was replaced by the silver. I followed the instructions in my UK SKY box connectecdthe phone line inserted the new Silver card. Fine it works.
Just to check I have put in the old BLUE card. It is not recognised it, IT DOES NOT WORK.
I can receive the basic Freesat channels ( without a card ) but NONE of the subscription channels.
If we bring our UK SKY box with us with our SILVER card NO PROBLEMS we continue to get all the subscription channels. BUT NOT with the OLD BLUE CARD.IT does NOT work in our sky box in PT.
I can confirm that anyone I know who has replaced the old card with the new also has the same experience.
But I hope that this does not stop you advertising your services and making money from forum members.

Re: Sky subscription
In which case he needs to speak to his accounts department - they don't get their invoices out quickly enough. He gave me the advice 5 months ago
Re: Sky subscription
I cannot see anything which says or implies that the old blue cards will work anywhere. MD600 refers specifically to the new cards. It is news to me that a new UK card will provide some Sky services in a box other than the one is was dedicated to but I accept what MD600 says. What I am not c lear about though is whether Sky will extend the use of your full subscription to a second box. I think that this is what is being said because that is the only way it could work for someone who lives in the UK but has a second box over here.
I obtained my Sky+ box from MD600 a few years ago and he has always been willing to answers queries that I have put to him

Re: Sky subscription
I support Steve's comment - MD600 gave me a lot of his time and there was never any suggestion of him doing it for gain. I sent him copies of quotes from Rui at RJ Tecnica for his assessment and he never once tried to undercut it or demean it. I believe him to be an honourable person and if he can get a sale out of - so be it. He never put me under any pressure to buy my system from him.steve wrote:he has always been willing to answers queries that I have put to him
I realise some of you will find this hard to believe but there are some genuinely nice people on this earth
Re: Sky subscription
I did not suggest that the " old Blue cards will work anywhere " although ours did.
As we and many others have reported it is the new Cards which are the problem. Once married to a Sky box they will not work on another Sky box which is a pain for those who used to bring a card out with them, Either in their own villa or on holiday to a property with a Sky box.
We now have to accept that unless we bring out our " original Box " with us we will be without the subscription channels and limited to Freesat. Just as well that we will be in the UK during the Ryder cup.
