Directions from Lisbon Airport to Algarve

We have not flown into Lisbonfor few years. Can you tell me what the directions are as we leave the airport and head for the direct route South to Carvoeiro? Thank you. It would be much appreciated as we leave tomnorrow!

Basically it is turn left out of the airport, cross the river via the Vasco de Gama bridge and follow the signs down the motorway for the Algarve. It is worth checking the initial part of the route on a route planner because in the past the entrance to the bridge was not well signposted and if you missed the turn you were taken north and had to find a way back. It is however a couple of years since I last did the rip and the signing may be better now .

Thank you so much. I always found the big roundabout that you approach after the airport with all the signs very confusing and did take the wrong route once. We will have young children in the car and want to get on the road South asap. It would help if we take the correct exit first time. Any hints?

Thanks Michael. No I had not checked the FAQ and on doing so all the information was there. The good news is that my family made the journey today and arrived at the house earlier on with no trouble atall. Thanks again.

Thanks for bringing that up Ellie. I'll be doing that drive in September. I usually take the wrong turn off that roundabout too!!!
