FAQ corrrections
Re: FAQ corrrections
To get you started:TV in the Algarve
Terrestrial TV
There are 4 channels:RTP1 (similar to BBC1). RTP2 (similar to BBC2), SIC & TVI. English & american programmes and films are shown with english dialogue and portuguese subtitles. Lots of portuguese soaps on SIC & TVI.
Freesat
Enjoy all the same channels as Freesat in the UK. No subscription required and no viewing card required. Sytems are cheap & easy to buy for under €100 (eg from Leroy Merlin) - I bought mine at Lidl in UK and took it out in hand luggage. You will need a 1.3 mtr or bigger dish. I have a 1.3 mtr dish in Ferragudo installed by Silva & Sintra-Telecomunicações Lda in Lagoa which was supplied and fitted for €160.
If you search the forum you will find several postings about Sky - I'm sure one of the member sposting them could help with Sky info.

Michael
It may be worth mentioning that you can use the RAC and AA route planner websites to work out your routes when travelling from the UK (or Holland
) to CVO. I have found them very useful in the past.
