was told it would be open late September, however I will not go there unless the new staff are polite, friendly and efficient and that they will actually serve women.Hated the place with a passion b4 and was glad it went belly up as they were so god dam awful. Agree the golf course was reasonable, but buggies were never available, they were always loosing bookings and were down right rude and inefficient.

Only what I heard from a keen golfer who said the company were trying to purchase land around it to build villas/ apts etc but could not raise the finance.
With that in mind they went belly up, bailed out and sold it on.
But no doubt someone out there will know the real reason why it is closed and now is being refurbed etc and will pass on the truth and not a hear say that I heard.

Onyria Group are quoting the following..................Hope this helps?

Palmares Resort
Lovers of golf and the beach are the perfect match in Palmares of both worlds.
In the area of Meia Praia, Lagos, a 5-star hotel will be the privileged meeting point between the blue sea , green golf course and quality of service excellence for the whole family oriented

The promise

A 5-star hotel with 200 rooms, a spa , 450 tourist units and a residential golf with 27 holes represent the luxury of the new offer in Palmares .
The existing 18 holes will be added in September with the signing of Robert Trent Jones Jr., Palmares making the perfect destination for golfers.

Investing

Considered by the Government a Project of Potential National Interest ( PIN) , the Resort represents an investment of 300 million and opened in 2007.

That will be good. Will it have all the facilities up and open etc that has been written above??
We visited a luxury golf resort in the Eastern Algarve in June, that has said all was up and running. Saw little evidence of that and to play a round of golf was in excess of 195 Euros for the round.
I am beginning to feel cheated re golf in the Algarve of late, either courses and facilities non operational, poor or sub standard facilities or just way to expensive.
