Ryanair price differences

I have been using ryanair for some time but only just realised that they charge the same price for a each fare whether you book it as a "return" or 2 x "one-way" journey. However if you book it as a separate one-way ticket from faro the price is the same value but in € - ie if its £89.98 its also €89.98 - guess which one I chose!

Thought I'd do a similar check with Flybe for Faro - Southampton.

Booking return flight the Faro leg was £116 - just doing one-way from Faro was 151euros - I think its best not to tell Ryanair.

Our experience with Flybe - very expensive but convenient if you live close to Southampton - which we did in June.

Tried Ryanair from Bournemouth and was astonished at the price. What started out at £24.99 (one-way) ended up at £354 (return) for two with bags. The same with Monarch from Gatwick was £178 - a no brainer

Same here with Monarch from Manchester, started off at £88 each - with taxes, 2 cases and allocated seats it came to £335!

Normally use Ryanair out of East Midlands but in June our spa pool filter pump gave up the ghost. We had excellent service from the manufacurer, from emailing them from Portugal on a Sunday, a couple of phone calls and a new unit was delivered to our UK address by the following Friday. We already had a booking to fly out last Wednesday with BMI Baby for a change and at a very good price. Had a look to see what it would cost to add the box containing the pump, not much bigger overall than a large case and weighing about 18 kg, and the Initial 22.00 suddenly became almost 70.00 after adding extortionate card fees and taxes. Phoned Direct Transport in Porches who quoted 25 euros if delivered to their depot in Andover. Worked out slightly cheaper to deliver the box myself to their depot in Addover from Lincoln. Damned if I was paying BMI rip off prices. To add insult we had our hand luggage measured at the gate when it was clearly within limits when others, who were probably oversize, were not checked. British Midland never again.
