Can anyone advise on the best places to go course fishing on the Algarve? We went some years back to a river on the west coast but wouldn't have a prayer of finding it now.

I can highly recomend fishing with John bates i had a very good day out with him last year he took us to an unfindable lake drove us there supplied all tackle and bait caught lots of carp between 1lb and 6lbs his web address is

i second this..in fact last year on a lake i caught a huge 23 kilo carp...the line broke and it got away.

Fantastic - well done!! Question though - if it got away after the line broke how do you know it weighed 23 kilo?

...maybe the line was only suitable for fish up to 22Kg
