I am going for the fighter plane theory, they looked like missiles but obviously not as it would have been in all the papers next day. But jets would have looked similar and they were in a sort of formation, I'm surprised no one else saw them

Your suggestions are far too logical and reasoned to find support from the looney tunes.
I have to admit that I have seen some very strange sites in the early hours of the morning ( in my head anyway ) and alcohol has nothing to do with it.

Off to get the rope and boards out of the garage its crop circle season again.

who you calling looney EMM?..I know what I saw and they weren't of this Earth.....
so its you making the crop circles eh?

Mankind is so arrogant..... we are not the only beings in the Universe.

Ill give an example:
The Dogon tribe of north Africa worship beings that came from a planet that goes around the Dog star (Sirius B).......they have drawings of these people (half man half fish)..
tell me, how do these people know about this when they didn't even have telescopes
There are more things in Heaven and Earth that are dreamt of in your philosphy....to quote Shakespeare
so there :P :wink
If other 'beings' can fly here.... then they are far superior to we Earthlings

It has been established beyond doubt that " crop circles " that caused so much fuss in the 80.s/90.s were the creation of local farmers having great fun at the medias expense.
There are tribes in the pacific who worship airplanes and even the Duke of edinburgh,( but then he is not of this world ).

I have flown over the Nasca lines which again some thought to be not of this earth but have since been proved to be man made.
The so called spaceman could even be of modern construction.

I doubt that aliens would make a detour to visit the Algarve unless it was for a saturday night out on the strip in Albufeira where by 4.00am they would not appear out of the ordinary as most of the holidaymakers are seeing things by then anyway.
Though I do think that i heard some alien noises ( karaoke ) coming out of Phoenix Nights last week. It could have been humans but I doubt it.

If you look at old manuscripts and maps of Africa , these show creatures with no necks, eyes in their bodies etc, Mans imagination has no limit ,fortunatley or life would be very boring.

EMM, you should read Nick Pope's book 'Open Skies Closed Minds'....he was once at the UFO desk in the government offices.....
its a very interesting book. It starts of with the opening chapters of 'Ezekiel'(old testament)...where it describes his 'chariot' coming out of the clouds and the way its described it is like a spaceship!

Well I certainly believe the evidence of that pilot (who flew to the channel islands)...he said what he saw was a huge, solid object...not one but two and his passengers saw them too.
Other pilots have seen things too...... one said he saw an object the size of a battleship, up there!!!

I have a feeling that man will one day get an almighty surprise..and he will be shaken at what happens..........
Man hasn't advanced that much..I mean we are forever at war in some way.

Shouldn't this topic be on chitchat?

p.s. Have you ever thought that other 'beings' might see us as food?!

Half the pilots I worked with saw visions in everything, they even saw beautfiul shapely women in cloud formations.
They sleep for half the time then wake up and think their dreams were real.

Ellie has spoken, therefore it must be so.

If Ellie has seen it written in a book, then it must be doubly true.

My 8 year old son also has that unshakeable faith in the written word.

Mind you, he also thinks England will win the world cup ...

To be fair to Ellie and others who hold similar views 600 years gao many thought the earth was flat and that that in far off countries strange beasts and mythical creatures existed.
Science proved them wrong and who knows in years to come science may well prove some of us to be wrong again.

Note The world will NOT end in 2012 the experts have said so. ( i never believed it would )

Whilst I subscribe to the view that given the infinity of the universe, it is highly likely that there are living beings elsewhere, I can't help but wonder that if all these UFO sitings were beings from other worlds - why has not a single one ever landed or made contact. I know there are supposed to have been instances where this is supposed to have happened, but no hard proof is forthcoming, only stories (including those that people have lifted from the Bible to suit the theory). Roswell and Area 51 just don't wash. If there had been landings, why would the authorities wish to hush it up? I'm sure the Americans for example would love to boast that the visitors had chosen them as a landing site.

If we eventually developed the technology to visit another inhabited planet, would we just fly over the sea, buzz a couple of planes and come home again? I don't think so, and I think if people from another world reached us they would surely hang about and make contact.

Finally, when it comes to experts just think of some of their efforts:
The millenium bug - computer chaos when the clock ticked to 1/1/2000 - wrong!
Thalidomide is perfectly safe - wrong!
We are about to suffer a swine flu pandemic - wrong!
The list is endless - there are a lot of clever people about - but beware of experts.

Not at all Fmm (wish I knew your name)...I only post what I believe to be true. I do think 'someone' or 'something' is up there watching us....not just God but I think there are aliens, other beings from other worlds....
the thought of being watched is rather creepy. If they can fly here then they must be far superior to we Earthlings..
Its funny, when I went to the car yesterday afternoon(to go get some shopping), the sky was a clear blue..2 aircraft flew over leaving a vapour trail. Then something came into view, a small silvery object. I called out to Hub to come see....he looked up at the object(travelling very slowly) and he thought it was cylindrical...it almost looked as though it was going to stop!
Hey what would we do if there was an alien invasion? Expect we would go back to our cavemen days and be very afraid :o
If you read Nick Pope's book (Open skies closed minds)..you will read about an invasion of UFOs over Belgium...they sent planes up to investigate but they couldn't keep up with the speed of the UFOs....
Oooohhhh errrrr
have a nice day now
xx
p.s. Tom I think they have landed but its all hushed up..........................the authorities are worried about people's reactions
Ron, you've really started something here
Remember Carl Sagan's tv series 'Cosmos'?....he was talking about aliens and he said 'They're here already' !
