Mr Grillo - Porches
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that there isnt a bad restaurant in Porches!
The restaurant we were heading for last night was closed, so we headed into Porches and found Mr Grillo.
At first, going by the name, we thought it was a piri-piri/rib joint.
No way. We found an excellent restaurant. Good food and wine. All the food cooked freshly to order with an excellent and varied menu, but not too extensive. Pleasant environment. Not the cheapest, but worth ignoring the naff name and taking a drive to Porches for.

From the Lagoa crossroads....
Head down the 125 for Porches.
Go straight over the roundabout that is the first entry into the village, and carry on about 500m or so to the next major entry road. Take that right hand turn and its just up there on the right as you get into the built up bit. It is signposted from both ends of Porches.
There is another excellent restaurant just a bit further into Porches called O'Velho.

This is an excellent restaurant - we use it a lot. It is pricey but quality is standard

We love Mr Grillo but we think restaurant O Leao just up the hill from Grillo is even better, lovely food & excellent service. For such a small town Porches does have some really good restaurants.
