Re: composite decking
There is a large place just before algarve retail park - on the RHS as you go up thehill towards Faro (not quite as far as Leroy) - I think its called maximart? they are about the cheapest, but it is expensive material - and considering its made from waste plastics its a stupid price. We were considering it for around our pool - a 1m wide "edging" for a 12 x 5 so that would have been ~34 m2 - a company from Albuferia wanted €5700 to do the job! - we had Tiles and Calcadas fitted at €22/m2!
Re: composite decking
Because of the vey high UV values in the Algarve UVPC compaunds used in Portugal ( southern Europe ) have to have expensive inhibitors added otherwise in a very short time they would disclour and eventually become brittle.
This is one of the reasons why UVPC windows have such a small share of the door and window market compared to Northern Europe.

Re: composite decking
The latest type of composite decking is made from recycled approx 50% hardwood fibres and recycled 50% HDPE (high density polyethylene) - this is much more resiliant to UV light than UPVC. However I cant see where they get the price from either!
