Dear all,

Much to my shame, I have not frequented this superb website for a long time. I planned last year to up-sticks from London, rent out a property in Carvoeiro and while here look around to see what I wanted to buy. Unfortunately events got in the way and hopefully some time later this year this may be realized.

I have looked over this website and there are really many helpful and kind contributor members. Some things that I would not have even thought about were listed here and discussed. This really is a goldmine of information. What is more appealing is the layout of discussion boards - simple and clear. Something our American friends call 'eye candy'!

I just wanted to know(in case I omitted in reading it) is there an annual sort of meeting of all members here in Carvoeiro - a sort of getting-to-know you or general meeting to discuss general living-in-the area matters?

There used to be a weekly meet at Algar Seco but that went by the wayside. What we try and do is see who else will be out at the same time and then try and fix something up. There was quite a large gathering at Ma Jas earlier in the year. We fly out tomorrow for a week and hope to see Pato at least.

If you check out the HOLIDAY PLANNER you can see when some of the members are in the village. Not all of them are on this list (I only add those that request it or send me their dates) but there's often enough for a drink or two.
